Remember phys ed? True Body Project does and gives us this show as follow-up to last year’s Fringe fave, Body Language: A Radical Truth, which ranged upstairs and downstairs in the old School for Creative and Performing Arts.
As before, this production features actors and nonactors and gives the participants and those of us attending plenty to remember about body-consciousness in the gym class landscape. We’ve all been there.
Stacy Sims (writer), Julianna Bloodgood (actor) and Heather Britt (choreographer) worked with stories from dozens of people to distill the funny, sad, sweaty essence of the experience, presented in an actual gymnasium.
Performed at YWCA May 28 and 30 and June 1, 2 and 5 (see map of Fringe venues here)
