Is Halloween season making you crave some packaged candy? You're not alone.
According to career website Zippia, Google search numbers are up for certain sweets ahead of trick-or-treating. And they've compiled a list based on Google Trends to determine each state's favorite candy.
"We examined 50 different popular (and some infamously unpopular) candies, given us a range of candies that puts any grocery store shelf to shame," they write of their results. "From there, we determined what candy is searched a disproportionately, high amount."
So what sweet treat do Ohioans crave the most?
Peanut butter cups.
"Shout out to Ohio for knowing Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are the TRUE reason for the season," writes Zippia.
And while the Buckeye State's top candy is very reasonable, some other states have questionable taste.
Oklahoma loves Circus Peanuts (those orange styrofoamy marshmallow things); people in Colorado favor black licorice; and residents of West Virginia keep it traditional with candy corn as their most-searched Halloween treat.
The overall candies favored by most Americans are Kit Kats and Twix.
Gum, raisins, fruit snacks and "other things people try and pass off as candy to unfortunate trick-or-treaters" were omitted from search results.
