A quick day trip from Cincinnati is Ohio’s Scarecrow Capital, where you can find as many scarecrows as you’d ever want to see.

Two hours from the city in Fairfield County, you can find the third-annual Trail of Scarecrows — either an adorable or a haunting event, depending on how you feel about anthropomorphic hay.

"Businesses, groups, organizations and residents created scarecrows that are on display all over town," says tourism group Visit Fairfield County. "You won’t want to miss a single one of these cute and clever displays that celebrate the Autumn Experience throughout the month of October."

There will be over 250 scarecrows scattered throughout the county. Drive around the 14 participating communities looking for the best stuffed statue around and vote on your favorite at bit.ly/2021ScarecrowVoting

Visit Fairfield County suggests downloading their app to track the scarecrows that you have discovered and the ones you still want to see.

Throughout the trail, you can see the countryside and get to view some of the changing of the fall foliage. If you want to get out of the car, there are many places a short drive away to see that beautiful seasonal spectacle.

And if you want to stay closer to home, check out these eight fall festivals around Greater Cincinnati or get spooky at these 10 haunted houses.
