Buff City Soap is coming to Oakley on Feb. 18, opening next to Smoothie King in Oakley Station.

The all-natural soap-shop franchise hand-crafts everything from body scrubs, bath bombs, foaming hand soap, and even laundry detergent.

Each location makes every item in-shop so customers can see the ingredients that go into the product they are purchasing. Buff City has been dedicated to this kind of transparency since 2013, when it was founded.

The company calls its 100% plant-based soaps “squeaky clean.” The body scrubs, for example, contain natural exfoliants like chopped loofah bits, crushed walnut shells and poppy seeds, according to the Buff City Soap website.

Customers are able to make each order unique by customizing the ingredients and scents that go into their soaps — something that makes Buff City unique.

The shop offers products void of artificial detergents, dyes or harsh chemicals that may irritate the skin.

Mike and Danielle Hamilton will be the Cincinnati franchisees who plan on overseeing the new Ohio stores. Buff City Soap plans to build an impressive 80 soap "makeries" in Ohio over the next several years, with the Oakley location being the first.

“We have loved calling Cincinnati home for the past 10 years and have a passion for success and a heart for this community,” Mike Hamilton says in a Feb. 5 press release.

The Hamiltons have more than 15 years of professional experience in the health and wellness industries, making them the obvious choice as new franchisees, they say.

“When customers stop by our stores, they will get to see their own products crafted right before their eyes, and have the opportunity to personalize their own soaps, which is completely unique to our brand,” Hamilton says.

The new store will be located at 3257 Vandercar Way in Oakley.
