The NKY Pride Center will host its annual PrideFest by offering a series of in-person educational services and health resources at Goebel Park on June 6. Many activities will be livestreamed on Facebook for those who wish to attend virtually.
The festival will include healthcare and mental health services for the LGBTQA+ and ally community, including HIV/AIDS testing and education. Faith-based services will also be held in the park for attendees. There will also be multiple educational opportunities, including an open house of the NKY Pride Center to tour.
Organizers will showcase the PrideArt installation throughout Covington in commemoration of 12 years since NKY Pride’s founding.
Some long-standing traditional events, such as the parade, will not be offered at this year’s festival to preserve the community’s health and safety during the pandemic. During the in-person events, strict COVID-19 guidelines will be in place; the NKY Pride Center has worked closely with healthcare partners and Covington city officials to host a safe, fun event.
The official after-party event, which includes the community awards celebration, has been rescheduled for the fall.
