KISS will be in Dayton to "Lick It Up" this September.

As CityBeat has been reporting, tons of fantastic national music and comedy acts are scheduling stops in Greater Cincinnati, thanks to the scientific magic of COVID-19 vaccines. We've got all the performance art we could ever want here.

Well, almost. As card-carrying members of the KISS Army, we're not ashamed to say that we're willing to head north on I-75 for a chance to see some leather-wearing rockers in face paint.

Legendary Glam Rock band KISS will perform at Wright State University's Nutter Center in Dayton on Thursday, September 2. Known since the '70s for major stage theatrics and wearing the highest platform boots you've ever seen, the larger-than-life group is continuing what reportedly is its final world tour.

The band's "End of the World" tour kicked off its first leg in 2018, with much of 2020's shows being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. A press release notes that KISS has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.

In 2014, the band's founding members — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss — were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland but refused to perform at the ceremony after Rock Hall officials refused to include later KISS members in the induction.

Tickets for KISS's show in Dayton go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, June 18.
