PETA is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who abused the hell out of a grey-and-white two-year-old cat in Fairmount.

Here’s what PETA says happened to Dagger the kitty on March 3:
Last Wednesday, Dagger slipped out of his home on Everglade Place in Fairmount. His guardian found him later that evening in a nearby vacant lot tied to a tree with a red retractable dog leash, which was wrapped so tightly around his neck that she had to cut it off. Dagger was bleeding from his eyes, nose, and mouth; there were puncture wounds on his body; and he was unable to stand. After several days of emergency veterinary care, he still couldn’t walk—and it’s uncertain whether he’ll recover.
“Just hours after this gentle cat accidentally found himself outside the safety of his home, he was tortured and left for dead,” PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien says in a press release. “PETA urges anyone with information to come forward and help police find this cat’s abuser before they strike again.”
PETA also offered a reward in January after a young adult raccoon was found with third degree burns and charred fur in Price Hill.
