Everyone's favorite humorous misanthrope David Sedaris is spending an evening with Cincinnatians on Nov. 30.
Starting at 7:30 p.m. at Music Hall, Sedaris will be reading from his new books The Best Of Me and A Carnival of Snackery.
The Best Of Me is a collection of previously published works, which novelist Andrew Sean Greer for The New York Times Book Review called a must-read. "You must read The Best of Me. It will be a new experience, knowing that enough time has passed to find humor in the hardest parts of life. More than ever — we’re allowed to laugh," Greer said.
And A Carnival of Snackery, a collection of Sedaris' diary entries, won't be released until this October. So the evening promises to be intimate and infused with personal tales and patented wit.
Sedaris will also be hosting an audience Q&A and signing books.
A release from the Cincinnati Arts Association, which is producing the event, says, "To see him read his own work on stage allows his autobiographical narrative to reveal a unique persona that will keep you laughing throughout the evening."
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at cincinnatiarts.org, 513-621-ARTS and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office (650 Walnut St., Downtown).
