Stricker’s Grove is a private family-owned and operated, 25-acre old-fashioned amusement park located near Ross, Ohio.
It is closed to the public for most of the year, except for Labor Day, Family Day (in August), Customer Appreciation Day (in October) and the Fourth of July.
This year, the park is opening its doors on July 4 for a full day of fun and fireworks after canceling last year's festivities due to COVID.
The nostalgia-inducing theme park is home to tons of games and classic rides — including a scrambler, tilt-a-whirl and swinging pirate ship — but it's claim to fame is its two roller coasters. There's the Teddy Bear, originally located at Coney Island and rebuilt at Stricker's Grove, and the wooden Tornado, hand-built by owner Ralph Stricker himself.
If you seek other family-friendly amusements, the park also has an 18-hole miniature golf course, a shooting gallery, horseshoes and an arcade with video games and Skee-Ball.
Admission to Stricker's Grove is free, but you'll need tickets to ride. Individual tickets start at $2 (some rides require more than one ticket) and an unlimited ride arm band is $17.
Rides will be open 3-11 p.m. July 4 and the evening will be capped off by a fireworks display.
Food and alcohol will be available for purchase, but you can bring your own food in as well.
Parking is $5 before 6 p.m. and $8 after.
Stricker's Grove is located at 11490 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Crosby Township. For more info and ride photos, visit strickersgrove.com.
