The 24th-annual Sunflower Festival takes place Oct. 2 and 3 at Gorman Heritage Farm.

The sunflowers are in full bloom at Gorman Heritage Farm in Evendale, and they are celebrating this weekend with the 24th-annual Sunflower Festival.

From 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3, the 122-acre working farm will be devoted to all things sunflower.

Guests will be able to wander through a sunflower maze, cut their own sunflowers (for $1 per stem), and take plenty of seasonal snapshots and selfies.

In addition to the blooms, Gorman will be offering hayrides and mule-drawn carriage rides, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch and a chance to meet the farm's friendly animals.

Food trucks and craft vendors will be lined up on the grounds, and Silverton's HighGrain Brewing Co. will be operating the pop-up beer garden. Food trucks include SEA Cuisine, Tweedles Donuts, Honey Child Artisan Pops, Sweets & Meats BBQ and more.

In terms of craft vendors, expect to find everything from handmade jewelry and ceramics to apothecary items and alpaca fleece.

Live music starts at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Redbud Quartet and One Rock Taylor. On Sunday, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra's string quartet will be performing "Sunflowers + Strings" from 3-4 p.m.

Advance tickets are required and can be purchased at eventbrite.com. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 ages 3-7 and those 60 plus, and free for kids under 3. Gorman Heritage Farm members are also free but still must register to attend.

Masks are not required in the sunflower field (but are on hayrides), and dogs are not welcome.

The event will be held rain or shine — unless the weather is dangerous.

10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3. Gorman Heritage Farm, 10052 Reading Road, Evendale, gormanfarm.org
