The winter spike in COVID-19 cases is shifting the schedules for yet more arts performances in Greater Cincinnati.
A release from Northern Kentucky University says that its School of the Arts will postpone spring productions by a week as the campus — and the surrounding areas — steps up COVID-19 safety precautions. The Ensemble Theatre, Cincinnati Art Museum, Contemporary Arts Center, the Taft Museum and other organizations also have recently postponed events or have temporarily closed due to the coronavirus.
Earlier this week, NKU also postponed the start of classes due to COVID-19 concerns. The university now will start the spring semester on Jan. 18 instead of on Jan. 10.
The School of Arts will delay both dance and theatre productions, including the regional premiere of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. New dates are below, and tickets will go on sale about one month prior to opening. Most productions will be held in NKU's Corbett Theatre. Masks are required indoors.
