Alt-Country stalwart Jason Isbell has tested positive for COVID-19 and with it is rescheduling multiple upcoming shows.
“Got myself a breakthrough case of Covid- feeling fine but we’ll have to cancel the next few shows (Asheville, Louisville, Columbus, Wilkes-Barre, and Wilmington),” Isbell wrote on Twitter.
Got myself a breakthrough case of Covid- feeling fine but we’ll have to cancel the next few shows (Asheville, Louisville, Columbus, Wilkes-Barre, and Wilmington). Refunds at point of purchase but we’re working on rescheduling.

Isbell has been outspoken about the need for COVID-19 vaccines in order to protect musicians, crew members, venue workers and fans. He was among the first and most vocal to institute full vaccination requirements for his shows.
"I'm all for freedom but I think if you're dead, you don't have any freedoms at all," he told MSNBC.
We’re now requiring proof of vaccination or a current negative test to attend all our shows, indoors or out. If the venue won’t allow that, we won’t play. https://t.co/KSYmsT5qAl

At the end of 2021, Isbell performed back-to-back shows at the Andrew J Brady ICON Music Center on Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11. Grand Ole Opry star Marty Stuart was the featured guest, along with Stuart's band, the Fabulous Superlatives.
