The Ark Encounter, from the minds behind the Creation Museum, is a 510-foot-long recreation of Noah's ark in Williamstown, Kentucky.
In interviews after big wins, plenty of athletes give thanks to god for their success, just as fans offer up their own prayers for their home team. Well, we just got some good news for the Cincinnati Bengals: Looks like Jesus is a member of Who-Dey Nation.
All 510 feet of Northern Kentucky's Ark Encounter is glowing orange in advance of the Bengal's game against the Las Vegas Raiders during this Saturday's AFC Wild Card match.
"In honor of the home team’s accomplishment in making the NFL playoffs for the first time in many years, the Ark Encounter, south of Cincinnati, has been lit in orange this week to help cheer the Cincinnati Bengals on as they begin their playoff run," reads a release from the attraction.
The Ark Encounter — a somewhat controversial project from the Young Earth Creationist minds behind Boone County's Creation Museum — is a literal, full-sized recreation of Noah's ark. At 51 feet high and 85 feet wide, it's longer than one-and-a-half football fields. Inside, there are made-up replicas of Noah and his family's living quarters, an animal storage area full of animatronic/recreated creatures and lots of Bible stuff. Outside, there's a zip line and a zoo (they have a zorse), plus a two-story buffet restaurant.
Although the Bengals lost to intrastate rival the Cleveland Browns during the regular-season's final game, they will still will advance to the AFC Wild Card this weekend.
The No. 4-seed Bengals will host the No. 5-seed Las Vegas Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Paul Brown Stadium downtown. The NFL says the game will air live on NBC, Peacock and Universo.
Cincinnati and Las Vegas both are 10-7 on the regular season. The Bengals last saw the Raiders on Nov. 21, when Cincinnati won 32-13, earning Queen City residents Gold Star chili yet again.
The Bengals are the AFC North champions.
In December, Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, defensive end Trey Hendrickson and running back Joe Mixon landed spots on the AFC Pro Bowl team that will play Sunday, Feb. 6, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The game returns after being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
