Cincinnati Traffic to Adult Webcam Site Plunges During Bengals AFC Championship Game

Looks like Bengals fans weren't doing at least one thing while their team was beating the Kansas City Chiefs during last night's AFC Championship — and that's beating off.

Adult webcam site Stripchat and their "statisticians" say traffic to the website dropped 12% at the start of the Bengals vs. Chiefs game — compared to the same time the week prior — and decreased 10% nationwide during the AFC and NFC Championships.

Traffic popped back up to 54% during half-time, when the Bengals were down 21-10 and people were looking for solace (or something to do to avoid the cacophony of Country singer Walker Hayes drowning out the game's half-time commentary).

Then, after the Bengals clinched the win and their spot in the Super Bowl, traffic dropped 27%. A release from Stripchat speculates this dearth in sexy webcam interactions was due to fans going out and celebrating instead of staring at their computers.

In Kansas City, numbers looked similar. There was a 38% dip in Stripchat traffic when the game began and a 40% drop after the team lost, "maybe because Chiefs fans were too busy sulking and crying," says Stripchat.

In a tense AFC Championship game on Sunday, the Bengals knocked off the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in overtime after overcoming an 18-point deficit. And now that the Bengals are AFC champs, Cincinnati is going to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1989.

The Bengals — 10-7 on the regular season — toppled the much-favored, two-time AFC champion Chiefs — who went 12-5 — in yet another nail-biter and last-minute win. Cincinnati trailed 21-10 at the half but later rallied to tie it up and then take the lead. The Chiefs tied things up again at the end of the fourth quarter, sending the game into overtime.

And then came Evan McPherson. Yes, again.

The rookie gave Cincinnati yet another game-winning field goal — a 31-yard beauty that glided right through the posts and made the entire Queen City erupt with glee.

He didn't do it alone, of course. Quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns while managing to avoid all the sacks he had during the previous week.

To get to this point, the Bengals beat the Tennessee Titans 19-16 in the AFC Divisional round on Jan. 22 with a magical walk-off field goal from Evan McPherson that further enhanced this squad's legendary status. Before that, the team had a can-you-believe-it victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in the Wild Card round on Jan. 15.

The Bengals will take on the Los Angeles Rams during Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, Feb. 13. The Rams won the Jan. 30 NFC Championship game to advance with the Bengals,

The Super Bowl will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Rams' home of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. NBC will broadcast the game, and fans also can watch on Peacock, Telemundo, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Eminem will perform during halftime.

NBC's and Peacock's Super Bowl coverage will begin at noon, with the pre-game show launching at 1 p.m.
