National indoor golf and entertainment company Five Iron Golf is set to open in Fountain Square this year.

The company signed a lease at 80 W. Fifth St. in the space formerly occupied by Macy’s, per a release from Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC). This location is part of The Foundry, 3CDC’s $51 million mixed-use development at Fountain Square.

“Bringing Five Iron Golf to Cincinnati is a natural fit in a community so enriched by sports and culture,” says Five Irons co-founder Nora Dunnan in the release. “This prime location will provide convenient access for enthusiasts of all levels to enjoy one-of-a-kind golf experiences as well as multiple alternative entertainment options.”

The 13,000-square-foot facility will host 13 golf simulators “featuring multiple high-speed cameras to capture every angle of the golf swing.” Equipment will be provided for free to those playing, and guests will be able to get custom club fittings at The Fitting Lab.

Other leisure games plus a full bar and restaurant will be offered for players and non-golfers alike. The space will also be available for leagues, private lessons and clinics.

This will be the third midwestern location of the New York-based Five Iron Golf; the others include Chicago and two locations in Michigan currently under construction.

The Foundry already has multiple restaurants slated to open in the space,  including French brasserie Royce, which will be located in the former Tiffany's, and Jeff Ruby’s Downtown Steakhouse.

3CDC says they expect Five Iron Golf to open in late 2022.
