Covington's Revival Vintage Bottle Shop — a retailer and tasting room for rare and "dusty" bourbons — is getting a second location.
Revival, which launched its first spot in Covington in 2020, is slated to open at North by Hotel Covington at 614 Madison Ave. "before the end of the year," according to a release.“We are incredibly excited to expand into North by Hotel Covington, the 55+ guest room expansion scheduled to open in late-2022," says Revival co-founder Shannon Smith in the release. "This area was one major piece behind the catalytic renaissance of Covington’s central business district and our business will continue the trend by supporting the ‘revival’ of 614 Madison."
Revival's new location will feature two floors for bourbon lovers, staffed by bourbon experts. The first floor will be a full-service bar offering vintage spirits and cocktails, plus tasting flights. The second floor will act as a bottle shop with more than 4,000 options "ranging from your favorite store picks, to Pappy, to a pre-Prohibition spirit you never knew you needed to try," per the release.
Revival is a specialist in buying and selling old and rare bourbons from private collectors to offer for sale to the general public. The selection is managed by curator and co-founder Brad "Dusty" Bonds, who is described on the website as "an appraiser and librarian, guiding collectors and tasters alike through the differences of bourbon then and now."
“I am incredibly excited for Revival’s future and the opportunity to share my passion of tasting history through bourbon with everyone," he says in the release.
The bar, which has been named one of the best bourbon bars in America by The Bourbon Review, will also offer a membership and subscription series.
North by Hotel Covington is an extension of Hotel Covington, offering additional "elevated guest rooms" and a 500-person ballroom. It is slated to open in October at the corner of Pike Street and Madison Avenue.
