Zoo-goers can now see Fritz the hippo.

Fritz the baby hippo, brother of Cincinnati star Fiona, has now because famous in his own right and people are clamoring to see him.

If you’ve been waiting on bated breath to see the little guy, you’re in luck, but you’ve got to be lucky with timing.

Fritz has been behind the scene since his birth on Aug. 3, and now he’s being slowly introduced to the outdoor habitat where zoo-goers are able to see him. He and mom Bibi are still being kept from Fiona and Fritz’s father Tucker at the moment, so they are rotating the pairs throughout the day, meaning you may not see the baby when visiting hippo cove.

“Fritz has navigated the deepest part of the pool, and Bibi has demonstrated that she will keep him safe,” zoo director of animal care Christina Gorsuch said in a release. “They were unphased when staff came to get their first glimpse of the baby and we’re confident that they’re ready for their public debut.”

Zoo officials say Fritz will first be introduced to Fiona in phases then when they are fully comfortable she will join the two then once that group is ready Tucker will join.

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is located at 3400 Vine St., in Avondale. Tickets and more info: cincinnatizoo.org.
