Holiday Junction is returning to the Cincinnati Museum Center for its 75th appearance — and with it, the wildly popular and intricate Duke Energy Holiday Trains. The memorable tradition starts Nov. 11.
A holiday season in Cincinnati seems like a waste without the annual visit to Cincinnati Museum Center for Holiday Junction. From a garden railway scavenger hunt to custom wintery LEGO creations, all your favorite parts of Holiday Junction are returning. Crouch down, step on step stools or throw your little on your shoulders: whatever it takes to get the best angle and take in the Duke Energy Holiday Trains. Just remember to be nice and not naughty, as no visit to Holiday Junction is complete without stopping to chat with Santa.
“Year after year, decade after decade, generation after generation, the Duke Energy Holiday Trains have delighted families and have been a centerpiece of the season,” said Elizabeth Pierce, president and CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center in a press release. “Whether you’re falling in love with the wooden, brightly-colored circus train for the first time or you’re noticing a new detail along the tracks and snow-covered hills after 70 years, there’s something in the display that brings out the wide-eyed child in all of us each year.”
The incredible Duke Energy Holiday Trains display includes more than 300 toy rail cars and 60 locomotives that run on 1,000 feet of track.The display also features walkways that give guests a unique birds-eye-view of the trains beneath. Holiday Junction’s track layout features configurations dating back to the early 20 century, so real train aficionados can have fun identifying the new and old formations within the display’s intricate diorama.
For the safety of Holiday Junction guests, the passenger train will not be pulling into the station this holiday season.
Holiday Junction starts Nov. 11 and Santa arrives in the Public Landing on Nov. 25. Tickets for Holiday Junction featuring the Duke Energy Holiday Trains are $10 each for adults and children or $5 with the purchase of any other museum experience. Admission is free for CMC Members.
