Popular ice cream spot Hello Honey is finally opening its much-anticipated Downtown location.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Oct. 9, Hello Honey revealed that it would be opening its Downtown location to the public on Thursday, Oct. 13 — just in time for BLINK revelers to grab a scoop or two.

The new Downtown store will be located at 725 Race St.

Brian Nicely and his wife Nitima Nicely began making ice cream in their home with a small, counter-top machine just for fun — that is, until it turned into a full-scale plan to open up their own shop, Hello Honey.

Nicely and his wife Nitima started serving their homemade, small-batch desserts on Vine Street downtown in 2012. In early 2022, they opened a second location in East Walnut Hills and a new location in Fort Thomas. They also closed the flagship Hello Honey to relocate to the larger spot at 725 Race St.

Nicely told CityBeat during an interview for a previous article that the build-out at the new Downtown location has been "chaotic."

Hello Honey is known for its creative dessert flavor combos, made with fresh ingredients and free from artificial flavors and coloring. Roll cakes come in options ranging from goat cheese cherry and orange cardamom to hazelnut chocolate.

If you've never paid a visit to Hello Honey before, it's imperative you top your ice cream with one of their homemade, vegetarian marshmallows (yes, standard marshmallows are made with gelatin and therefore are not vegetarian-friendly). They're "torched to order," as Nicely says, directly on top of your dessert.

Hello Honey's East Walnut Hills shop is located at 1530 Madison Road, the Fort Thomas shop is located at 118 N. Fort Thomas Ave., and the new downtown Cincinnati location will be located at 725 Race St.
