Ahead of Thanksgiving, Frisch’s Big Boy is hosting a pumpkin pie eating contest, and a big star in the world of competitive eating will be there trying to eat enough pie for three large families.

Joey Chestnut, who is famous for his Fourth of July hot dog-eating skills, is partnering with Frisch’s for the contest at the chain’s Mainliner location in Fairfax. Chestnut will attempt to eat 24 slices of pumpkin pie in just three minutes.

“At Frisch’s, we love coming up with fun and exciting ways to engage our customer base and what better way to show how delicious our pumpkin pie is than by hosting a Joey Chestnut pie eating contest?” said Frisch’s CEO James Walker in a press release.

The contest begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Those who come to the event will get a $5 gift card and a Frisch’s Santa hat, and if you order two or more pies at the event, you also get a free pie cutter.

Chestnut will also be doing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

Frisch’s Mainliner restaurant is located at 5760 Wooster Pike, Fairfax. More information: www.frischs.com.
