Cleveland MetroParks is offering tobogganing at Strongsville's The Chalet in Mill Stream Run Reservation now through the end of February.
Just a short day trip from Cincinnati, Cleveland MetroParks' Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville is offering a heart-pounding way to enjoy the winter weather this season.
Operating through late February, the tobogganing chutes at The Chalet in Mill Stream Run Reservation are the fastest and tallest in Ohio, navigating riders down 70-foot-tall ice chutes that reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. According to park officials, the chutes can operate with or without snow.
Guests can enjoy the wintertime adrenaline rush on Fridays from 6-9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Each guest must reserve a time to go tobogganing at Mill Stream Run Reservation on Cleveland MetroParks' website. This timed slot is the time in which guests have to pick up their pre-purchased tickets at the ticket booth. After picking up their tickets, guests are permitted to use the tobogganing chutes to their heart's desire for the remainder of The Chalet's operating hours.
Currently, timed slots are open to reserve from Dec. 16 through Jan. 1. The remaining timed slots will be available to reserve at later dates, which are available for viewing on the Cleveland MetroParks' website.
All-day tickets are $14 per adult and $12 per child 11 years old and under.
All riders must be at least 42 inches tall and wear gloves or mittens that cover the fingertips. Riders who forget to bring their gloves can buy a pair at the ticket booth.
The chalet building will be open during tobogganing hours. Guests can also warm up between tobogganing sessions at a nearby wood burning fireplace. A concession stand will also be serving up quick bites on site.
