Court Street is adding another player to its culinary roster as 3CDC announces the arrival of an upscale American restaurant.

Court Street Kitchen will open at 9 E. Court St. in the Moore Flats alongside Avril Bleh Meat Market, Pilar and the recently James Beard-nominated Mid-City.

“We believe Court Street Plaza is on its way to being the next great dining district in Downtown Cincinnati, and the addition of Court Street Kitchen is one more step in that direction,” said Lindzie Gunnels, commercial leasing manager with 3CDC, in a press release. “The completed design of the space is going to offer a picturesque backdrop for diners as we see the vibrancy of this block continue to increase.”

3CDC says while the menu will feature elevated American fare, ranging from a classic burger to Lamb Wellington, the restaurant will have a neighborhood-centric feel to it.

Chef and owner Braheam Shteiwi is no stranger to Cincinnati’s culinary world, either; in fact, it’s in his blood. Shteiwi was not only born and raised here, his father owned and operated 14 restaurants in the area, including several Gold Star Chili stores, Spinning Fork, Capronis and Caruso’s. Shteiwi has also run several restaurants, and in 2019, he reopened his father’s former Downtown restaurant Caruso’s in Fairfield, making Court Street Kitchen his second restaurant.

Court Street Kitchen’s layout will feature a main dining room, a lounge and an oversized patio along Court Street. A large, elevated bar will sit in the main dining room, and the lounge will have its own smaller, more intimate bar.

Shteiwi said he had been searching for the right space for his restaurant concept for six years, but until Court Street, nothing felt right.

“It’s been a journey getting to this point, but as soon as I walked in, this space just clicked,” he said in the release. “The layout is set up perfectly for the style of restaurant I had in mind and the location on Court Street Plaza really put it over the top.”

Construction on Court Street Kitchen is expected to be finished this summer. Hawaiian barbecue joint Onolicious is also slated to open near Court Street Plaza in the summer.
