A street in Bellevue is getting a name makeover ahead of Taylor Swift’s "Eras Tour" run in Cincinnati this weekend.
The city of Bellevue proclaimed Taylor Avenue will now be known as “Taylor Swift Avenue” for the rest of this week. On Thursday, the city is swapping out the street signs for pink ones bearing the new name, and it’s also inviting Swifties to kick off the festivities there ahead of the concerts at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium Friday and Saturday night.
“Massive crowds are expected downtown, and the city is encouraging concertgoers to visit Bellevue, less than 2 miles from the stadium, to avoid crowds of people,” the city said in a press release.
Local businesses are getting in the T-Swift spirit and will offer Taylor-inspired food, drinks and specials for the weekend. In Vue, the Shop Bellevue Business Association, will hand out commemorative postcards, and visitors are encouraged to take photos with the pink street signs. You can also grab a Bellevue Entertainment District (BED) cup and drink while you shop along the BED portion of Fairfield Avenue.
The Cincinnati Regional Chamber’s Center for Research and Data and Visit Cincy say the potential overall economic impact of Taylor Swift's upcoming two-night performances is enormous. Between hotels, concert tickets, transportation and food and beverage, the chamber said total consumer spending over the two days alone could reach $92 million. Of that spending, about $48 million will be newly generated spending or economic activity that would not have occurred had the "Eras Tour" not stopped in Cincinnati.
And if you're still hoping to snag a ticket to one of the coveted concerts, Epilepsy Alliance Ohio is hosting a raffle of two suite tickets. You can buy raffle tickets until 10 a.m. Wednesday, and the drawing will happen at noon on the same day.
