America’s favorite wiener on wheels is heading for the Cincinnati area this week — all 27 feet of it.
The famous Oscar Mayer Frankmobile (formerly known as the Wienermobile) will be making stops at local Krogers and events starting Wednesday. Fans can take a tour inside the famous Wienermobile, which will have some Instagram-worthy photo ops, and even get to take home a wiener whistle.
Here’s where the Frankmobile will be stopping:
Wednesday, Sept. 6: Fort Thomas Farmer’s Market from 3-7 p.m. 801 Cochran Ave., Ft. Thomas.
Thursday, Sept. 7: Oakley Kroger from 9 a.m. to noon. 4613 Marburg Ave., Oakley.
Thursday, Sept. 7: Beckett Ridge Kroger from 1-4 p.m. 8000 Princeton Glendale Road, West Chester.
Friday, Sept. 8: Walton Kroger from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 635 Chestnut Drive, Walton.
Saturday, Sept. 9: 50th Anniversary Walton Old Fashioned Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 40 N. Main St., Walton.
The Wienermobile was first launched in 1936 after Carl Mayer, the nephew of founder Oscar Mayer, came up with the idea of a 13-foot metal hot dog on wheels to transport the company spokesperson. This May, the Wienermobile officially changed its name to the Frankmobile, a nod to the brand’s move toward producing 100% beef franks, the company said.
There are six Frankmobiles that tour the country year-round. This week will be the first time the giant hot dog visits Cincinnati as the Frankmobile.
