Celebrating the Choral Legacy of Ysaye Maria Barnwell

Eight area choral groups and six conductors will honor Dr. Ysaye Maria Barnwell in a celebration of her career as a singer, composer, actress, educator and activist. Barnwell’s resonant voice spanning three octaves anchored the a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock from 1979 to 2013. She’s composed 100 works that include choral arrangements and original works that are now standards in the choral repertoire. Dr. Barnwell will be I the house to hear participating groups including MUSE, Cincinnati Men’s Chorus, YPCC, and World House Choir.

Bircus Brewing Co.
322 Elm St., Ludlow; 39 W. Pike St. & 40 W. Seventh St.
Ludlow, Kentucky's nonexistent craft beer scene sent in the clowns, leading to the launch of Bircus Brewing Co., a branch of an original concept from Ghent, Belgium. Pronounce it like 'beer-cuss,' a hybrid of beer and circus, as the brew shares the limelight with carnival performances at the taproom. Performers can do everything from breathing fire to flying on the trapeze. The brewery also opened a Covington location where they offer up their popular wood-fired pizza and weekly drink specials.
