The Weston Art Gallery is hosting a conversation with Steven Thurston.
Fascinated by history and the alchemy of porcelain, Thurston (Columbus, OH) explores notions of authenticity and the compelling arena of translation. Through an ongoing series of iconic porcelain busts depicting the founding fathers of the United States, he examines translational misunderstanding and conflicting mythologies surrounding the subjects.
The Weston’s annual Gallery Talk Series of public lectures and informal talks provides a unique insight into the passion, curiosity, materials, and creative process of each artist and their discipline. All talks are free and open to the public. Refreshments are provided.
