The series celebrates one of the most distinguished bodies of non-fiction work in American independent film and one of our most decorated documentarians. Emmy Award–winner, four-time Academy Award–nominee and Oscar winner Julia Reichert has dedicated her career to capturing stories that explore class, gender, and race in America. This retrospective offers a prime opportunity to see the work of Julia Reichert, who has been called the godmother of the American independent film movement.
