Chef Kayla Robison of downtown's Arnold's Bar & Grill is bringing back a fan favorite: the vegetarian Popeyes-inspired fried "chicken" sandwich.
The mammoth of a sandwich is made with a thick slab of cauliflower, breaded and double-dipped in a Southern-style buttermilk batter — with Frank's RedHot hot sauce and Cajun spices — then fried and topped with pickles and some housemade sauce.
If you've got to have one, you need to act fast — the "Chx" sandwich will be offered up Thursday starting at 4 p.m. until they are sold out. According to a Facebook post, they will be back again next Thursday, too, so plan your hunger accordingly.
The first time Arnold's released the sandwich in January of last year, it was so popular they added it to the menu for a limited time. We even gave it a Best Of Cincinnati staff pick.
Arnold's Bar & Grill is located at 210 E. Eighth St., Downtown. Find more information at arnoldsbarandgrill.com.
