Cincinnati's oldest operating bar and tavern has a new angle: their bartender Tyler Del Matto just recently passed the Certified Cicerone exam in Asheville, N.C. He's currently the only working bartender in the city with the certification, one of only 58 in Ohio and the youngest certified Cicerone in the region. The Cicerone exam is a "rigorous four-hour examination of beer knowledge," with a tasting identification portion, written pairing and styles exam and more. Only 200 people pass the second level certification exam each year. And now that Del Matto is a certified Cicerone, Arnold's is relaunching their beer program. He's completely overhauling their bottled beer list and he'll fully curate their local and rotating taps. To celebrate, Arnold's is throwing a relaunch party with $2 pints of Three Floyd's/New Belgium collaboration beer, Gratzer.
