Wake up and smell the pipin’ hot coffee and breakfast bar — tomorrow Cincinnati is declaring June 5 “Big Boy Day” to mark Frisch’s newest downtown installment.

Located on first floor of Carew Tower (441 Vine St.), the spot marks the local-turned-national chain’s first new restaurant in Cincinnati’s core in 14 years — complete with a remodeled space. It’s just off Fountain Square, joining rank with several other fast-casual options for hustling downtowners.

Frisch's CEO Jason Vaughn will officially open the restaurant at 11 a.m. tomorrow to an estimated 100 business leaders and  media professionals for a private event. But, other downtowners can pay ol’ Big Boy a visit starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 6.  Expect the classic menu with some new items peppered in, and a grab-and-go option for those in a hurry.

Over the weekend, the final touches came together: the iconic bib-overall wearing statue was dropped off at the new location, double-decker burger in tow.

Here in Cincy, we stan the classic icons — under the gleam of neon establishments, Frisch’s has been has been there for us, soup/salad/sandwich in hand, since 1939. As of Tuesday, we’ll honor the local slice of legend with his own day.
