Starting March 8, hard seltzer fans can pick up a new local option via Braxton Brewing Co.'s Vive.

The Northern Kentucky brewery is branching out into boozy seltzers — think White Claw — and is the first local to do so. The drink, which is only 100 calories, 5 percent ABV and has two grams of carbs, comes in four flavors: mango, lime, dragon fruit and grapefruit.

"To be first to market with a local hard seltzer speaks wonders about our team’s commitment and passion for innovation. I can't wait for our fans to try Vive,” said Jake Rouse, Braxton co-founder and CEO, in a press release.

Variety packs featuring 12 of the 12-ounce cans and six-packs of the mango and lime flavors will hit Kroger store shelves in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee on March 4. Vive will be available in Braxton's taproom starting March 8.

From March 8 through March 10, the taproom will have a sampling station set up and product available for purchase.

Braxton Brewing Co. is located at 27 W. Seventh St., Covington. More info:

*An earlier subhead to this story said Braxton was the only local brewery to make hard seltzer in the area, but March First brewing and Rivertown also have a hard seltzer available at the taproom.
