Hello again, ice cream beer

Graeter’s and Braxton are continuing their successful and tasty collaboration by releasing an encore limited-edition run of their super popular Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Milk Stout. Starting Feb. 6, the stout is slated to hit shelves at Kroger stores in Cincinnati, Dayton, Lexington, Louisville and, for the first time, Columbus and Nashville.

First released to great fanfare in 2017, the beer is brewed using flavors found in Graeter’s iconic Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream. This year, Braxton has made a few changes to the recipe based on customer feedback — the reformulated beer now includes more black raspberry puree and the brewery has changed the roasted malt to have a crisper flavor profile with that same creamy texture.

"It’s great to be able to work once again with this beloved local Cincinnati craft brand that puts as high an emphasis on authenticity as we do," said Jake Rouse, Braxton co-founder and CEO, in a press release. "We hand-crafted a new recipe to ensure that we released a beer we know craft food and beer lovers will appreciate, and the new Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Milk Stout recipe does just that."

There will be a keg tapping party at Braxton on Feb. 3 to celebrate the relaunch. The party starts at noon with food trucks, Graeter’s ice cream and live music.

Braxton Brewing Co. is located at 27 W. Seventh St., Covington, Ky. More info: braxtonbrewing.com.
