Chef Jared Bennett to Take Over the Kitchen at Branch in East Walnut Hills

Bennett — formerly of Maplewood Kitchen and Bar, Karrikin Spirits and Metropole — will take over head chef duties after the departure of Chef Shoshannah Anderson

Chef Jared Bennett — formerly of Maplewood Kitchen and Bar, Karrikin Spirits and Metropole at 21c — will take over the role of head chef at Branch in East Walnut Hills.

The restaurant says Branch's former chef, Shoshannah Anderson — who also previously ran the kitchen at sister restaurant The Littlefield in Northside — "will always be a valued part of The Littlefield family and we look forward to future collaborations and projects that bring her cooking to the public."

Bennett's new menu will focus on "farm fresh ingredients and bold flavors with a modernist bent," says a release, using seasonal produce to craft dishes that are both "innovative and comforting." 

The menu isn't available yet, but will be in coming weeks says Branch.

Change is also afoot at The Littlefield, where chef Andrew Huska — currently at Branch — will be formulating the menu. Huska spent time working under Chef Michael Symon at Cleveland's Lolita and also chef Jackson Rouse at Bauer Farm Kitchen downtown.

"His honest and rustic approach to cooking carries on in the spirit of the local spot that has been recognized as both an ideal date night and the place to bring your family," reads the release.

Huska's menu will also be available at next-door Northside bar Second Place, owned by The Littlefield Group.

All three Littlefield Group operations — Branch, Littlefield and Second Place — closed their doors to the public in March 2020, eventually offering carry-out and outdoor seating options. As the staff gets vaccinated and patios are now open again, all three plan to reopen indoor dining soon.
