A fundraiser is being held to benefit Union, Kentucky's Farmstand Market & Cafe after the restaurant was hit by a car on March 4. The accident happened after Farmstand was closed for the day.
A dozen chefs from Greater Cincinnati restaurants are coming together for a chili cook-off on March 16 to raise funds to help offset the cost of repairs to the Northern Kentucky business.
Taking place from 6-9 p.m. at The Kitchen by Butler's Pantry in Covington, guests will have the opportunity to sample chili from local chefs including Jose Salazar of Salazar, Mita's and Goose & Elder; Kayla Robison of Arnold's Bar & Grill; and Christian Gill of Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey.
Entry to the event costs $10 and includes samples from all participating chefs. Guests can vote for their favorite.
The fundraiser will have a cash bar and a silent auction with items donated from local chefs which include a wine tasting at Revel OTR Urban Winery, Mercantile Library memberships, $150 worth of grass-fed beef from Cox Family Farm and a bakery tour and class with Ryan Morgan of Sixteen Bricks.
