Your favorite week-long burger extravaganza has returned, bringing $6 burgers to over 50 restaurants throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Cincinnati Burger Week kicked off on Monday, Aug. 17 and continues through Aug. 23.

From gourmet blends to off-menu specialties and even Braxton beer pairings, the event pays tribute to America’s sweetheart: the hamburger. Each restaurateur and chef will prepare their unique take and many go above and beyond trying to outdo each other. A burger topped with peanut butter and bacon? What about Maker's Mark barbecue sauce and macaroni and cheese? Both of those are available — along with plenty of other wild burger options — plus classic favorites and veggie burgers.

And if you don't feel comfortable dining in yet, some restaurants and burger stops are also offering their Burger Week specials for carry-out.

Cincinnati Burger Week Passports will be available for participants to get stamped at participating locations throughout the week. Collect at least five stamps to be eligible for a special grand prize drawing featuring the Ultimate Grill Out, Jack Daniel's swag and $250 in gift cards.

Check the passport for info like carry-out availability, as well as veggie and gluten-free options.

A few local favorites you can look forward to trying include Sammy's Craft Burgers & Beers, Nation Kitchen & Bar, Goose & Elder, Bru Burger Bar and more. See the full list of participating restaurants and their burger menu options here.

The annual event raises funds for Childhood Food Solutions, a program that provides meals to kids that struggle with accessing food during the summer months.
