As the last big hurrah before Lent (if you are of a religious persuasion) or a random reason to down half-price Hurricanes and collect colored beads, Fat Tuesday is manifesting in myriad ways in the Queen City.

Crawfish Boils

Fat Tuesday at Allyn's Cafe — There will be an all-you-can-eat crawfish boil, plus a full menu of Cajun classics. Look for an Abita tap takeover and Hurricane specials. Kitchen open until 9 p.m. and bar open until midnight. Starts at 4 p.m. Allyn's Cafe, 3538 Columbia Parkway, Columbia Tusculum, facebook.

Braxton Fat Tuesday Crawfish Boil — It’s Fat Tuesday and Braxton is partnering with Rich’s Proper Food & Drink for a traditional Louisiana-style crawfish boil: crawfish, potatoes, corn and sausage all boiled up in a pot and served by the half-pound plate. The party comes complete with King Cake — if you find the baby in the cake, you get a prize. Cincinnati band The Hot Magnolias will provide New Orleans-style party music. 5-10 p.m. March 5. $10 for half-pound of boil and king cake. Braxton Brewing Co., 27 W. Seventh St., Covington, braxtonbrewing.com.

Eighth & English $1 Oyster Fat Tuesday — It isn't crawfish, but 8 & E is hosting a NOLA-leaning seafood party in honor of Fat Tuesday with $1 oysters, $10 po' boys, biegnets, Sazeracs and more. 5-9 p.m. March 5. Eighth & English, 2038 Madison Road, O'Bryonville, facebook.
