Ohio breweries fared extremely well at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival in Denver this week, including a couple from Cincinnati.
Cincinnati’s Brink Brewing Co. had an especially good showing. When the medals were doled out, Brink was the recipient of gold and silver medals for their beers, while also being named the top Very Small Brewing Company and Very Small Brewing Company Brewer of the Year by the festival. Hundreds of breweries from all over the country compete in the annual event.
Brink’s Hold the Reins won the silver in the English-Style Mild Ale category. The local brewer’s gold medal was for its Moozie, which was honored as the best Sweet Stout or Cream Stout.
Cincinnati’s MadTree Brewing also took home a gold medal. MadTree’s Happy Amber was declared the best in the Extra Special Bitter category.
