By now, Molly Wellmann is a household name for many people living throughout Cincinnati (and beyond, especially if you're interested in bourbon). If you're not familiar, Wellmann is known for her many roles in the nightlife scene around the area. She's a master mixologist, owner of Japp's Since 1879 in Over-the-Rhine and former owner of Myrtle's Punch House in East Walnut Hills, an author and the unofficial queen of bourbon and its rich history.

She's admired and respected as a talented businesswoman by so many throughout the community, and she just earned herself a new title that recognizes her on a much larger scale.

Nightclub & Bar Media Group, based out of Las Vegas, just announced their 2019 Nightclub & Bar award winners and named Molly Wellmann Bartender-Owner of the Year.

The annual list highlights the best in the business from across the nation. “Every year, the Nightclub & Bar Awards are presented to the top movers and shakers of the industry, and it is remarkable to see how these individuals and venues are changing the face of the hospitality world,” explains Nightclub & Bar editor, David Klemt.

The awards — 25 in total — were broken up into two sections: individual awards and venue awards. Other awards included Industry Podcast of the Year (Bartender at Large, Erick Castro); Brewery Bar of the Year (Earth Brewing Company, Roswell, Georgia); and Themed, Niche or Pop-up Bar of the Year (New Wave Bar, Bellflower, California).
