To all the meat-free eaters out there, or folks who just enjoy a healthy dose of deep-fried indulgence in their lives, this pop-up is for you.
Westwood's West Side Brewing is teaming up with traveling vegetarian/vegan restaurant Vulture Food to host a plant-based junk food party this August.
Vulture Food is a Los Angeles-based company that is touring the country to offer their veggie-friendly eats at various breweries.
Their Cincinnati stop will take place from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24 at West Side Brewing. According to their Facebook event page, the team members will be wearing masks, gloves and offering their meals in to-go containers.
The event page also explains that their menu items include soy, and their loaded fries are gluten-free but fried in the same fryer as their sandwich patties, which do have wheat in them. All foods are nut-free.
They won't announce the menu until the day of the event, but a scroll through their Instagram page lends one to imagine there will be some sort of extravagant fried vegetarian sandwiches and French fries topped with something resembling chicken and sauce.
The pop-up is a delicious reminder that vegetarians crave junk food, too. A concept that fast food restaurants have recently become rather hip to, as chain giants like Burger King, White Castle and KFC have begun offering meat-free options on their menu.
