Clifton Gaslight staple Proud Rooster has been in business for over half-a-century, offering classic diner fare for breakfast and lunch, and specializing in fried chicken.

The restaurant announced in early December via a Facebook post that they have decided to close indefinitely due to the pandemic.

"Due to how bad covid-19 is now, we will wait until the virus eases up," the post reads. "Have a safe and happy holidays. Please wear your mask, wash your hands and social distance."

The announcement follows several month's worth of posts on Proud Rooster's Facebook page updating visitors about the medical conditions of owner Bob "Chicken Man" Doll, who suffered a small stroke in mid-September and has been healing from surgery — as well as updates about the closure.
