As with most literally every food in life, tacos have their own national day in America and that day is Oct. 4.
Why is National Taco Day on Oct. 4 — and on a Monday instead of a Taco Tuesday? The answer is unclear, but, really, who cares as long as it means you get free tacos.
Locally, Condado Tacos is celebrating with not just one redeemable day of free eats but five.
"The free taco will be available through the Condado Tacos Rewards app for those that sign-up prior to and on Monday, October 4," says the chain in a release. "The free taco offer can be redeemed Monday, October 4 through Friday, October 8."
The free taco is available with purchase for dine-in, pick-up or delivery.
The taco they want you to try? Their new Smokin' Joe Kush: "a signature secret-shell taco featuring a soft flour tortilla and jalapeno-cheddar dusted hard shell loaded with smoked cheddar queso, ground beef, refried beans, cilantro, onions, pico de gallo, Middlefield smoked cheddar, pickled jalapenos and dirty sauce."
They have also recently added Loaded Reefer Dip, aka bacon refried bean dip with cheese, dirty sauce and pickled jalapeno, and a Harvest Pear Margarita with a cinnamon sugar rim.
But you don't have to pick any as your free taco if you don't want to.
Condado also has plenty of other options on its menu, including interesting proteins for vegetarians like veggie chorizo, barbecue jackfruit and roasted mushrooms.
Condado Tacos has Cincinnati locations at 195 E. Freedom Way, The Banks; 3329 Vandercar Way, Oakley; 5070 Deerfield Blvd., Mason. For more info, visit condadotacos.com.
