A Covington-based eatery known for its "epic" tacos and extravagant "urban grunge" decor has announced its plans to open the brand's third Ohio location in 2022.
Agave & Rye, which opened its first restaurant in 2018, has since expanded with eight locations across Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.
The eatery will be located in Hamilton's former Ritzi's Service Station, at the intersection of Main Street and South East Street.

“It’s such an honor to be able to join the Hamilton community… and in such an incredible space! Agave & Rye is built with heart and passion. We feel it’s a perfect fit,” Yavonne Sarber, founder and CEO of Agave & Rye, says in a release. “We truly feel we’ve created an escape, and we’ve started calling Agave & Rye a ‘playground’. We’re creating something that causes guests to want to leave their homes to experience something amazing and one-of-a-kind.”
The forthcoming restaurant will welcome more than 100 guests inside of its eatery and more than 200 outside. The release says they plan to employ 50-60 people.
Since its inception, the brand has become rather popular for its vibrant murals and funky decor. Visitors flock to the eateries to chow down on unique tacos, with proteins including kangaroo, duck, crab cakes, butter-poached lobster, crispy cauliflower, salt and pepper fries and fried chicken — in addition to more familiar bases like steak, pork carnitas and mahi mahi.
They also offer an impressive selection of tequilas, bourbons and craft cocktails with which to wash it all down.
