A locally loved Northern Kentucky pastry shop has announced its closure via a heartfelt post on social media early Thursday morning. The popular farmers market pop-up Rose&Mary Bakery opened its first brick-and-mortar shop this past December, and quickly became a foodie fave throughout the region.

The bakery boasts extravagant baked creations with weekly updated menus, offering bites like elote danishes, Hokkaido milk bread, everything croissants and salty malty chocolate chunk cookies.

The team behind Rose&Mary announced their decision to permanently close their doors, with their last day of business on May 30. The post thanks its loyal patrons for their support and teases a fun lineup of menu items ahead of their last weekend.

"We have felt so much love from this community, from all of those who have continued to support us through the thick & the thin, from market to storefront, throughout the pandemic, week in & week out. Honestly, we never expected to have such an impact on others with the work that we do & we hope that you all know just how much pride that we take away from this experience as a whole," reads the post. "It’s been such an incredible journey & we are so grateful that you all have been kind enough to hold space for us throughout it all. Our connections with you are precisely what made this experience so worthwhile — so thank you, from the bottom of our hearts."

The bakery was named after co-owner and lead baker Chase Maus' late grandmother and aunt (Mary and Rose, respectively) who helped to raise him.

The bakery team is small but mighty, consisting of the aforementioned Maus, the co-owner and a self-taught baker who focuses on pastries and "the sweeter side of things;" Connor Frenck, chef and baker who oversees the cafe's menu; Truly Withorn, another baker who oversees the "day-to-day must-dos" as well as pastry production; and co-owner, investor and CEO Barry Churbock, a family friend of Maus.

Rose&Mary Bakery is located at 39 W. Pike St., Covington. For more info, visit facebook.com/roseandmarybakery.
