While we wait for cult-favorite Dayton grocer Dorothy Lane Market to open its Cincinnati location, we can snag a taste of their Killer Brownie dessert in beer form.
The Killer Brownie Company, owned and operated by the Dorothy Lane Market family, has partnered with Warped Wing Brewing to release Killer Brownie brown ale.
According to a release, the brew — which has been in the works since 2019 — features "aromas of deep, rich chocolate upfront. Followed by sips of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and molasses." It mimics the original Killer Brownie, which features chocolate, caramel and pecans.
Like Dorothy Lane Market, Warped Wing is based in Dayton but has nearby taprooms in Springboro and a forthcoming location in Mason, slated to open in early February.
“Killer Brownie is a Dayton staple and we've always wanted to partner with them on a beer," said Nick Bowman, VP/Sales & Marketing and Managing Partner at Warped Wing, in a release. “This project has been a few years in the making but here we are and I'm excited to bring forth into the world our liquid version of the famous Killer Brownie!”
Killer Brown brown ale will be available at the Dayton and Springboro taprooms starting Feb. 3. Mason will also be pouring the brew after it opens on Feb. 4.
Fans can grab the beer on draft or in canned six-packs. Branded commemorative glasses will also be available.
