After 16 months of pandemic-induced closure, Maplewood Kitchen + Bar's downtown location is slated to reopen on Aug. 17 (its Deerfield location reopened in August 2020).
And it's not just the reopening that California-style brunch fans have to look forward to: Thunderdome Restaurant Group says it also will be introducing a "refreshed" menu. The menu will look similar to the updates undergone at the Deerfield location over the past couple of months (which you can see at maplewoodkitchenandbar.com).
“The lemon ricotta pancakes aren’t going anywhere,” assures John Lanni, co-founder of Thunderdome, in a press release.
The nationally famous stack of two flapjacks has enough of a fan following that it found its way to the mouths of Carson Daly and Al Roker on the TODAY Show in 2018 and also landed Maplewood on Travel + Leisure’s list of the top 25 places to eat pancakes. Insider also named Maplewood's stack the best pancakes in Ohio in 2020.
”It’s still the Maplewood you love but even better than before,” John continues.
The restaurant will serve breakfast, brunch and lunch 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, initially. Dine-in will be available, as will online ordering for carryout and delivery.
“We’re so excited to bring Maplewood back to downtown,” says Joe Lanni, Thunderdome's other co-founder. “Now that people are back in office we’re ready to help fuel the local business community with breakfast and lunch throughout the week and bring our famous weekend brunch back to the central business district.”
As an added bonus, to celebrate its reopening, Maplewood is giving away free coffee for a year to the first 10 people to visit the downtown location on Aug. 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.
