Another beloved Cincinnati eatery has fallen victim to the brutal impact of COVID-19.

Downtown's Fiery Hen, a Nashville hot chicken joint that opened in January of 2019 on Court Street, announced their plans to close the restaurant via a Facebook post on Aug. 6.

The eatery explained that their difficult decision was due to the ways in which the virus shifted the overall way of life and they "unfortunately could not keep the fire going."

They assure visitors that while this business has closed, their neighboring restaurant — Court Street Lobster Bar — will remain open "well into the future."

They concluded their announcement with a sweet sentiment: "We will look back fondly on our time providing you all with our signature Southern Spice, coupled with Cincy Charm!"

The restaurant focused on Southern dishes like fried chicken and sandwiches, plus flavorful sides like honey cornbread, mac and cheese and greens.
