A nationally lauded chef has taken the reins as executive chef at downtown's 21c Museum Hotel and Metropole restaurant.
Chef Vanessa Miller left her stamp on restaurants across the Northeast and New York City prior to returning to Cincinnati. At age 24, Miller was the youngest female executive chef in NYC when she opened The Dalloway in SoHo in 2013.
Miller's culinary style melds seasonal and local ingredients, crafting dishes that evoke "bright flavors." Metropole's current menu is in the process of being transitioned, with a formal change slated for the end of September.
Some of Miller's first Metropole dish creations include scallops served with creamy polenta, summer peaches, bitter greens and black pepper almonds; as well as saffron risotto with chargrilled shrimp, Urfa pepper, snap peas and pea tendrils.
“I’ve been watching as Cincinnati’s food scene has developed over time, especially the last five years,” says Miller in a press release. “This is a pivotal time in the restaurant industry, and I am thrilled to be here surrounded by this innovative community of chefs.
"My team and I are looking at new ways we can nourish our guests, whether that’s with us in the dining room or through an experience they can have in their own homes. I’m looking forward to being a part of the next chapter of this restaurant”
The eatery is currently open for dinner from 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and for brunch from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Reservations are not required, but are recommended, as the restaurant is currently operating with restricted capacity.
