Downtown's "Lost in Translation"-inspired karaoke bar Tokyo Kitty has announced their plans to reopen after a months-long hiatus.
From local hospitality group Gorilla Cinema Presents — the team behind Video Archive, Overlook Lodge and La Ofrenda, the bar is slated to open this April and will limit their offering to their 7 private rooms to begin.
Bar co-owner Jacob Trevino announced via a Facebook post on March 9 that they are looking for staff members upon their forthcoming opening: three bartenders and one full-time security member.
"ALL POSITIONS come with a guaranteed pay of AT LEAST $30,000 a year plus $4,000.00 in health benefits. You can make way more than 30K, but that will be the least amount of money you will make (we are trying to stabilize pay so that you know how much you will at least walk with for the year). 30-35 hours per week, no more than 5 days a week will be expected for these positions, with it typically being 4 days a week.Bar hours will be Wednesday-Saturday 7pm-2am, Sunday 7pm-12am," the post reads.
