If you have a dog and if you live in Price Hill, get out your camera. BLOC Coffee Company is hosting a giveaway contest to celebrate dogs and summer.
Take a selfie with your doggo(s) with BLOC’s logo somewhere in the background and tag them on Instagram with the hashtag #dogdaysofsummer. Then, you are entered to be the weekly winner. If you win, you’ll get a meal or a coffee drink on the house.
The rules are simple: there is one winner per week; the photo must include you, the dog(s) and BLOC’s logo; the photo must use the hashtags #bloccoffeecompany and #dogdaysofsummer; and you must tag BLOC on Instagram @bloccoffeecompany.
“Pretty much everybody here that works here absolutely loves animals, and dogs especially. Since we moved to this new location, we have a lot more foot traffic and we see a ton of people just walking dogs, coming in and out of the shop with their dogs,” said Clay Gaddis, the general manager.
“A lot of people are a little timid about coming in, but we just want them to know they can bring their dogs in and we’re just always excited to see another dog. We want to feature dogs from around the neighborhood and give them a little spotlight. The owner gets to get a free lunch or a free coffee.”
Their espresso is Deeper Roots coffee. Gaddis recommends their cortados, traditional macchiatos and lattes. The coffee shop also has seasonal beer, made-to-order cocktails and wine from Henke Urban Winery. BLOC serves breakfast and lunch every day from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
Just a quick sampling of the menu: The Price Hill Plate, priced at $8, is a smorgasbord of scrambled eggs, your choice of thick-cut bacon or goetta, sourdough toast, a side of avocado, mixed greens and a Sriracha drizzle. The Turk and Avocado, priced at $7.50 on the lunch menu, is turkey, avocado, havarti cheese, red onion, microgreens and mayo all on multigrain bread.
