Camp Washington's The Welcome Project is hosting a one-of-a-kind Valentine's Day event that involves both pizza and crafts.
They're throwing a heart-shaped pizza party on Feb. 14, but the extra special ingredient won't be love. Well, sort of. They're inviting guests to create their own custom Valentines using The Welcome Project's extensive rubber stamp collection (or to bring their own old love letters from home) and then toss them into a fire "and watch as the smokey ashes of your love melts the cheese of your satisfying present."
The party is led by Julia Lipovsky and Maria Marotta, founders of The Welcome Project's Concessions Council, an occasional snack club that harnesses creativity and conquers cravings.
"(The event) is supposed to be light-hearted and cathartic," says Lipovsky in a message. "But each person will bring their own history to it, so it's really in their hands."
Tickets to the event cost $14 for one person or $25 for two.
6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14. The Welcome Project, 2936 Colerain Ave., Camp Washington.
